So, I would like to start off with a big apology for not posting this past month and a half! I have been really busy and got carried away with finishing up school, but we are back in action! I will be posting blogs every other Sunday so stay tuned!! This week’s blog is going to talk about friendship and how important it is to have true friends in your life.
A couple of weeks ago I watched the FRIENDS Reunion and it made me realize how grateful I am to have these amazing people in my life! The show “Friends” depicted the life of 6 friends and how they worked through the prime years of their life figuring out who they were and who they were meant to be: together. Watching a show like this makes you wish you had what they have but you do, in your own way have people who would probably sell their kidney for you. Friends? Friendship? What do these words mean to you? According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, a friend is a person who you know well and who you like a lot, but who is usually not a member of your family and friendship is the naming of the bond that they share. I would like to say I respectfully disagree with the “usually not a member of your family,” part. Your first friend, your very BEST friend: your mom!
The bond between a mother and a child starts way before they are born, it begins when those 9 months begin and every day since that day till the day they die, they are connected. No matter how old I get, I can assure you that I will still need my mother; hell, I even told her that I will send a picture of every inch of my apartment to her so if something goes missing ill be like “MOM! Where is my favorite necklace in section 4B:)?
Someone once told me that: “good friends are like stars, you don’t always see them, but you know they’re always there.” Best friends keep you from making dumb mistakes yet also do stupid things with you. These special humans live these memories through with you. I love my best friends and people say you can only have one, but I disagree. A best friend is someone who knows you inside and out and who you know inside and out as well. A person who would go to the ends of the earth to find you if you went missing, the light in the darkness. My mom is my first best friend and will also be one of my lasts. Thank you Breklyn, Kenny, Rhea, Hermon, Jorja, and all those special people who molded me into the person I am today. It is because of you that I laugh a little harder, cry a little less, and smile a whole lot more:)
Take this moment to message a friend you may have lost touch with or a friend whom you have had a fight with because if they were important enough for an argument, they sure as hell are special enough to make up with.
